Are you asking how tsunami's are still possible? Because if so, like WTF? Did you think we were going to be able to stop earthquakes somehow?

I am afraid I don't understand either, Jack. Are you asking whether we have a way to stop them? Or whether we shouldn't know better than to live near the ocean?

Wait, was that some kind of pun? I am failing to get it, which is death to humor, of course, but do explain?

Just Googled it. It's a text from Obamas speech. Here is the line in the last paragraph-

The journey will be difficult. The road will be long. I face this challenge with profound humility, and knowledge of my own limitations. But I also face it with limitless faith in the capacity of the American people. Because if we are willing to work for it, and fight for it, and believe in it, then I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on earth. This was the moment—this was the time—when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves and our highest ideals. Thank you, God bless you, and may God bless the United States of America.

Oh, that was kind of a clinker there, Jack. Not only does it misrepresent what Obama said (which was pretty much frivolous aspirational rhetoric anyhow), but tsunamis would exist no matter how deep the oceans might be - 12 feet or 12,000 feet. Fluid dynamics, you know.

I get it now. The tsunami is Obama's fault. Also his fault that women have their periods, and frogs have warts.

I was right, you are daft.

He seems very worried abt the neo-statist GOP majority.

Barry and his golf game, NCAA brackets, spring break in Rio, sends Biden to Europe, Senate gets a week off, etc, etc .. Shows the countrywhat a non-factor the GOP leadership in the House is.

It is obvious to any one who pays attention that Barry and the Dems are not concerned w/ the GOP at all .. but this is for another thread

Incredible devestation - I've been watching CNN this morning and the video they've shown is just mind-boggling. Walls of water moving across farmland carrying boats, cars, houses. I can't imagine what it must be like to be in the midst of a disaster like that. Kinda puts the Schuykill flooding in some perspective.
