The depravity and brazenness of the Mexican drug cartels is simply disgusting.

It's a shame we don't care until Americans are killed. |

Here is an article about a raid on the home of a drug warlord and pictures of the cash found in the home. We really have to rethink the war on drugs.

Now they are saying that the hitmen might have killed the wrong people. If so, that just illustrates the fact that the crimes surround the drug trade are more dangerous than the drugs. If not, I am sure it is response to some sizable sum of cash they we slipped Mexico under the radar or something similar. We should mind our own business.

So, you'd be okay with legalizing crack and heroin? I favor legalizing and taxing marijuana first as a pilot program. Then, looking into the legalization of cocaine and/or possibly heroin. I think that crack is so dangerous you'd have to keep it illegal. The crime which is directly tied to cocaine crack and heroin is so vast and costly that it is almost a no brainer to at least study legalizing them. |

The crime which is directly tied to cocaine crack and heroin is so vast and costly that it is almost a no brainer to at least study legalizing them. Right now, you mainly have drug dealers gunning eachother down and addicts stealing/robbing. If it was legalized, you'd certainly have more people using it, and the robbery/theft would also rise. It's likely you'd still have illicit dealers who'd be just as likely to resort to violence. Either they'd sell it at cheaper prices (evading taxes) or, if it was sold in a controlled manner, like prescription drugs, they'd sell them w/o a prescription. |
