The BBC was doing a piece about Silvio Berlusconi getting assaulted with a statue at a rally yesterday and they were interviewing an Italian journalist. He made a snotty comment to the effect of "In the U.S., where madmen carry guns, Berlusconi would be dead. In Italy, madmen only carry cheap, commemorative statue souvenirs." The BBC reporter, however, shut him down cold by responding "yes, but in the U.S. that madman never would have gotten close to the prime minister."
That seemed to leave the Italian reporter at a loss for words. |

Berlusconi in pain, will remain hospitalized
You are correct...this did amuse me. Maybe they will ban statues now. |

Berlusconi in pain, will remain hospitalized Or Statues don't injure people, only madmen throwing statues injure people. (or as my brother once famously reasoned - drinking and driving isn't the problem so much as drinking and crashing). |
