The Jihadi Code eh? Is that like the "DaVinci Code"? At the end, does it turn out that Mohamed was a duck?

Years ago, I read a really interesting article on the history of Muslin Fundamentalism (it was probably in the New Yorker or Atlantic Monthly). It traced the roots back to Indonesia in the late 19th century, when they were fighting off the frankly appalling colonial behavior of the Dutch.

It also pointed out (and I've always thought that this was important) that Christian, Muslim and Jewish Fundamentalism all arose at the same time and for the same reason: as a reaction to the secularization of their respective populations.

In an era when armies where still expected to line up on the field of battle and shoot at each other, the Americans took to hiding in the bushes and picking the redcoats off like squirrels. They also didn't wear uniforms, so there was no way of distinguishing civilians from soldiers.

We're at war with the Saudi Arabia? We're at way with the Qatar? We're at war with Brunei?

Mel, baby, there are a lot of Fundamentalist Muslims out there, and we're only at way with one small fringe group of them (al Qaeda).

That is simply not true. That describes Lexington and that is for the most part it.
