Enjoyed this very much....the inside of the church reminded me very much of the church in which my mother (and grandmother) was baptized in Phillipburg, NJ, which was patterned after the church in Jakubany. Are you perhaps related to the Vargas from Phillipsburg?
Also, wondering if there is any way to download this video and send it to a distant cousin in Colorado who tried to view it, but because she has dial up it made is quite impossible. Thanks! PM if you prefer. Kathy Murray |

Right now that video is too big to load on to Youtube, but I will try to make it smaller at some point. I'll be at the Carpatho-Rusyn Center in Pittsburgh this weekend. Will you be there? |

There were still Buchkos (sp. var) in Phillipsburg in the 1970s. Somehow, I think there might even have been a Buchko in our family tree. I think I've been to the church web site, but I certainly haven't been there in a while. I'll check it out.
A lot of families in Phillipsburg seem to have moved out/on, but my grandmother's family and extended family seemed to stay put for the most part. Her maiden name was Kupcha (Kupcsa) and her mother's maiden name was Zeyock (Dziak). |

Of course it is your name but I think it would be Kup-ch-sh-aa or Kup-s-sh-aa. |
