Melting Ice Caps Expose Hundreds Of Secret Arctic Lairs
"We always assumed there would be some secret lairs here and there, but the sheer number now being exposed is indeed troubling," said noted climatologist Anders Lorenzen, who claimed that the Arctic ice caps have shrunk at the alarming rate of 41,000 square miles per year. "In August alone we discovered 44 mad scientist laboratories, three highly classified military compounds, and seven reanimated and very confused cavemen. That's more than twice the number we had found in the previous three decades combined." |

New report reinforces import of climate change. "A United Nations climate change conference in Poland is about to get a surprise from 650 leading scientists who scoff at doomsday reports of man-made global warming - labeling them variously a lie, a hoax and part of a new religion. Later today, their voices will be heard in a U.S. Senate minority report quoting the scientists, many of whom are current and former members of the U.N.'s own Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. About 250 of the scientists quoted in the report have joined the dissenting scientists in the last year alone. In fact, the total number of scientists represented in the report is 12 times the number of U.N. scientists who authored the official IPCC 2007 report. " Scientists abandon global warming 'lie' |

I think Mr Cowen should stick to what he knows. Maybe the "debate" isn't over after all? |

Wait, are you LISTENING to yourself? "A New Religion"? You have got to be kidding. Agree or disagree with the evidence and conclusions, OK, but "A New Religion"? That is just stupid. Actually, it is virtually a religion, one people are fanatical enough to kill (or, at least, advocate such) over: But a religion? Don't waste my time on feeble minded conspiratorial crap. Stupid crap rhetoric like that is an affront to good sense. |

No, I am sorry, that's just stupid too. Is it an ideology? A world view? Perhaps. |

Then don't attack me. Communicate that fact to the fundamentalist zealots who ram global whining...ooops, I mean global warming down our throats till we want to barf. You know perfectly well that calling global warming a "religion" makes as much sense as calling it a "department store" or a "Cheeseburger." I don't care whether you believe that Global Warming is real or not. But what does get under my skin is mindless sophistry like calling it a Religion. Stupid, stupid, stupid. It's not a religion, it's not even remotely close, don't insult our intelligence. Frankly, ideologies don't bother me - I deal with all the time, every day. People see things in different ways. But I have finally realized is what I really can't stand is a Dumba--. You're not a dumba--. I expect useless sophistry from trolls and halfwits like YourNeighbor and BigMel, but you're better than that. |

Come on, Sailaway, don't be a dumba-- like the rest of them. You're smarter than that - I know you are. |

Thanks, but face it: Some people are fanatical about it. Of course, there are people who are fanatical about anything and everything, but Global Warming is being pushed as if it were indisputable fact - never mind there are quite a lot of researchers who do dispute both whether it's man-made or whether it even exists at all. The point is, I'm not saying at all that I believe it to be a religion; what I am saying it that it has gained a religious-like following with some as though climate change theory is gospel and any significant dispute is heresy. The citation of the now-retracted Talking Points Memo article indicates to me that, as with the abortion issue, more fanatics are coming out of the woodwork. |

New report reinforces import of climate change. The contention is not that artic ice is growing, melting, or staying static. The contention is that the climate has a ton of natural variability. And global warming proponents postulate that carbon dioxide emissions are the cause of recent warming. Color me unimpressed. They've created a hypothesis. Now, they have to predict future climate. I know of none, as in zero, falsifiable predictions of average temperatures that has been accurate. I could have equally posted something akin to this: Hey global warming believers! Have you noticed how it has been unusually cool for about a year now? Get your collective head out of the sand. |

Nothing gets under my skin like pompous arrogant jackasses attacking the poster and of course not rebutting the post even a teeny bit. Come on Sail you're smarter than that. Buy into his patronizing bull****, try come on Sail you are an idiot and even an idiot can see the obvious religious like qualities of the warm globe morons. I have more proof that GOD exists than these idiots do that the world is coming to a climatic end. Adios nickel rocket four flusher- welcome to ignore or off my planet, the day you post anything that is not fantastical drivel of the highest magnitude, the internet will close down from shock. |

Yep, that's about it. I would call it a cult following but it's way to big to fit that definition. Of course on the other side of the issue were zealots dedicated to slavery not because it was the law or because of tradition but it was God's work. |

The Sun only gets hotter as it gets older.
That means the radiation that bakes the Earth will only increase over time. It never decreases. Our orbital eccentricity from the Sun doesn't change (much), so that means as time goes on, our planet will get hotter over time no matter if we do it ourselves or if Nature does it. And once the Sun starts consuming its He instead of H, the Earth will be done for. On the bright side (pun intended), Saturn's moon Titan is fairly large, has an atmosphere and is chock full of hydrocarbons (several times more than the Earth) and has an atmosphere made of chemicals that can be catalyzed into breathable air and water. The only trouble with Titan is that its atmosphere contains hydrogen cyanide gas, which is pretty deadly in minuscule doses. |
