Girl cries rape - to avoid being expelled Tue, May 25, 2010

MALAYSIA - A PRIVATE college student in Kuala Lumpur lodged a police report claiming that she was raped by a friend - just to avoid being expelled for not attending classes, reported Berita Harian. Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Jalil Hassan said the 18-year-old student lodged a report at 5pm on Saturday, alleging that she was raped by her friend last month after following him to his house in Taman Melawati.

However, she subsequently withdrew her report. That aroused police suspicion. Abdul Jalil said police later found that the student had lodged the report in order to inform the college authorities that she had been traumatised due to the incident and thus could not attend classes. However, he said police would continue to investigate.
