SINGAPORE : Ip Man 2, starring Donnie Yen, has set the record for the highest grossing Hong Kong movie in Singapore.

As of Monday, it hit a record of S$4.5 million, S$1.4 million more than the first edition of Ip Man.

The figure beat Stephen Chow's Kungfu Hustle, which earned S$4.32 million.

Ip Man 2 is distributed by Scorpio East Pictures, MediaCorp Raintree Pictures and Cathay-Keris Films in Singapore. - CNA/jy
