Democrat Party headquarters hit by M-79

A bomb attack hit Democrat Party of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva that celebrated its 67 th anniversary on Tuesday.

Initial investigation showed that an M-79 grenade was fired into a parking lot behind the party's headquarters at about 3.30pm. The impact of the blast which injured two policemen broke window glass of a police truck which contained tear gas and some weapons.

Police had to cordon the area out of fear that there would be the second attack.

A fire truck was brought into the area and police moved the tear gas and weapons from the truck.

The sound of the attack startled people in Wichaiyudh Hospital situated in front of the party headquarters.
