Many local fishermen hunt for sharks for local consumtion and sell the fins for regional market, mostly to Singapore and China for the famous Chinese fin soups. The Connecticut schooner Amistad, a replica of the infamous Cuban slave ship, has arrived in Cuba for a 10-day visit.
