Late in 2003 she was behind the big drive to have 125,000 ex-felons able to get their voting rights back...Catering to her base no doubt. MS WILSON, THEY ARE ILLEGAL ALIENS AND MANY ARE ILLEGAL SCUM DIRTBAG DRUG DEALERS!!!!! WOULD ILLEGAL BORDER-TRASH BE BETTER? |

Just more nonsense trying to cater to political correctness. What's sad is this will have to get some sort of serious consideration, thus wasted even more time of these people that waste too much as it is... and this women will get to keep her job after this. Insane. But, hey, I'm game.
Can we also outlaw "lazy slob," but have a hefty fine attached to its use? I have a number of co-workers, friends, and family I can have fined for using that one on me. |

This idiot obviously doesn't know the definition of "alien" and the fact that it has been in use long before people started talking about "visitors" from other planets.
This is just some politician trying to get their name in the paper. Just like the guy wanting to ban the word "nigger" in New York (think that's were it was). |

Illiteracy is a terrible thing, especially in an elected state legislator. Maybe if each of us buys a dictionary and sends it to her, she'll get the message? |

That explains everything, as she is a Liberal-Moron who wants the Nation to be anything but American! Of course she is OBVIOUSLY a liberal.---- she doesn't agree with you |

Call them aliens, immigrants, short-order fry cooks, or dining room sets. As long as the word "illegal" stays put... Give them an inch and they'll take a mile. Have you forgotten that people like this legislator want nothing from us except some handle they can grab and use to bash us? An immigrant is someone who comes in to stay and become part of the country. I've seen no evidence these illegals want to do that. They want to bring Mexico here, with all its lawlessness and corruption, and enjoy the best of both worlds: The culture of Mexico with the jobs, free education, free medical care, and free handouts of America. With no clue, of course, that the one will destroy the other. See http://www.uspoliticsonline.com/brea...orruption.html for a view of what these people bring to our country. Give them an inch and they'll take a mile. If we say, "Well, illegal immigrant is OK instead of illegal alien", next thing you know their mouthpieces will do a 180 and point out that even we, the patriots, are acknowledging that the illegals only want to come here, settle peacefully, and do the jobs Americans won't do, you know the usual lies. They are illegal aliens, period. Or illegals for short if you're lazy, as I sometimes am. They are no more "immigrants" than the 19 swell dudes who flew the planes into the WTC, Pentagon etc. Call them EXACTLY what they are, every time. . |

A legislator in my own state introduced a bill to outlaw spanking children. One in Arizona introduced one that declared the Minutemen "domestic terrorists". Such people usually get shoved aside fairly quickly. That's life - every now and then you have to take time to swat mosquitos, before getting back to real work.

I have to wonder if she was one of the ones who objected so strenuously to the word "niggardly" a few years back. Is it any surprise that our public schools perform so poorly? The legislators who control them cannot recognize the ignorance and illiteracy of the students, when it's no greater than their own. Sometimes I fear for my country. We get the government we deserve. ---------------------------------------- The News-Press: Local & State Bill would mandate nicer term for illegals February 27, 2007 TALLAHASSEE -- A state legislator whose district is home to thousands of Caribbean immigrants wants to ban the term "illegal alien" from the state's official documents. "I personally find the word 'alien' offensive when applied to individuals, especially to children," said Sen. Frederica Wilson, D-Miami. "An alien to me is someone from out of space." She has introduced a bill providing that: "A state agency or official may not use the term 'illegal alien' in an official document of the state." There would be no penalty for using the words. In Miami-Dade County, Wilson said, "we don't say 'alien,' we say 'immigrant.'" She said she encountered the situation when trying to pass a bill allowing children of foreigners to get in-state tuition at colleges and universities. Wilson, who directs a dropout prevention and education program in Miami, said she politely asks witnesses at public hearings on such issues not to use the term. "There are students in our schools whose parents are trying to become citizens and we shouldn't label them," she said. "They are immigrants, through no fault of their own, not aliens." Wilson said the first word isn't as bad as the second. "'Illegal,' I can live with, but I like 'undocumented' better," she said. Asked if her bill (SB 2154) might run afoul of Gov. Charlie Crist's "plain speaking" mandate for government agencies, Wilson said, "I think getting rid of 'alien' would be plain speaking." |

Remember the old show "Mork and Mindy"? At one point Robin Williams (playing a comedic character from another planet) went downtown to the local INS to register as an alien. And he though everyone else there must be from some other planet, too. It was a great joke.
But this woman thinks the same thing... and she's serious!!! |

In December 2003, a year before she was back on the ballot, she sponsored the Florida Clean Elections Act which would allow her to spend taxpayers money in her bid for re-election. Obviously, receiving only one-third the financing (40k) from 2002 had shaken her up a bit. So, lets quickly re-cap...Against dictionaries, Pro felon, Pro Frederica and not afraid to raise your taxes to make sure she stays in office. I know I'm impressed. |
