If you have a family, you can take $15000 off your taxable income. Providing you have enough income to get the whole deduction, you should realize at least a $1650 reduction in your taxes. (11% taxes is the minimum)That should buy health insurance for a family of four for just about four months. If you are in the 28% bracket you get back about $4200. Just about enough to cover that family of four. Once again, the have's do better than the have not's with this President.

Yes, but it is not nothing either. Can someone tell me what the Democrats are offering? We also believe in investing in life saving stem cell and other medical research that offers real hope for cures and treatment for millions of Americans. The Democratic Party Wow you'd think they'd have something better than that on the official agenda. It's all well and good to try to figure out a way where everyone can have healthcare, but it really doesn't address the issue of why people don't have it in the first place. The problem is it is skyrocketing with no end in sight. On average, the amount workers pay toward premiums has risen 84% since 2000, while wages are up 20% and inflation 18%. That is also from the democrat website. In my opinion we need to either get the price down or at least slow down the cost. Then I think we would be in a better position to make judgements and decisions on trying to make healthcare an option for everyone. Bush's proposal sounds like a short term band-aid fix that will cause more problems than it will fix. |

Under the democrats, everyone suffers equally. Is that what you would rather have? It is impossible to give the have nots any siginificant tax deductions because THEY PAY NO TAX. Varus |

This plan doesn't address the causes of high health care costs or high insurance costs. Socialism is a failure, everywhere it's tried. Including centralized, central state-run healthcare such as the Socialist Hillary Clinton continues to advocate. |

In the wealthiest, most powerful nation on earth, no one should have to choose between taking their child to a doctor and paying the rent. Democrats are committed to making sure every single American has access to affordable, effective health care coverage. We want to fix the disastrous Medicare Part D and ensure our seniors can afford their prescription drugs.
We also believe in investing in life saving stem cell and other medical research that offers real hope for cures and treatment for millions of Americans. The Democratic Party What's amusing (and dishonest of the Democrats) is that we already are heavily invested in stem cell research. It seems the Democrats can't be honest, even on their Party website, that's how thoroughly and profoundly dishonest the Democrats are. |
