Apparently the Iraqi government will execute Saddam within 48-72 hours, which is right before the Eid holiday in the Islamic religion. Saddam sensed the execution was imminent when the radio in his cell was removed, and he has met with two half-brothers to pass on his final letters, etc.

The man is at the level of Hitler, Mao and Stalin.
He caused generations great pain that none of us sitting in a comfortable chair sipping coffee can, or is even capable of imagining. We have never felt pain where our entire family was brutally murdered, we have never seen an infant badly burned and suffering greatly because of chemicals deposited by your own countries leader. We have no right to judge what the Iraqi's want to do to Saddam, we have our opinions, sure - but the Iraqi's can dow whatever in the hell they want to with this truly evil man - they earned it with their own blood. |

Whats the point of the The International War Crimes Tribunal as used in Yugoslavia. Why isn't Saddam facing trial for his crimes against the kurds. I dont doubt he deserves the ultimate sentence, but why is it being done to suit the US. Matt |

Like all criminal prosecutions, prosecutors will try the perp on whatever is the most likely to convict...they choice this avenue, and the result is the same. |

I believe that some Iraqis want it. It is being conducted by the government of Iraq, although it is fashionable to presume that this is nothing but a puppet show by the horrible US.
Will it do more harm than good? Hard to say. Is it entirely the prerogative of the Iraqi courts? Absolutely. Do other countries put people to death for far less? Absolutely. So this is not really that farfetched. Matt |

The man is at the level of Hitler, Mao and Stalin. He made a man watch his wife and three children tied up and pushed off a three story building several times before they were dead. Then his son put a bullet in the mans head. Liberals really show there colors in things like this. I guess it’s why they never grow in numbers. |

Didn't one judge resign because of coalition interfering with the case, while the current judge’s name is kept secret? Do you think the US hasn’t improperly interfered with this case at all? What would you have? I'm guessing an international circus court that would have turned this entire thing into a spectacle? You think America is the only country that would want saddam to remain silent?? If any country in the world has the most to gain from his death - it is France. |
