"“You had no agreement… you’re making this up, Ms. Warren. You’re simply — this is not the case,” McHenry said before being interrupted by a Democrat on the committee, Rep. Elijah Cummings of Maryland.
Cummings cut in, telling McHenry: “Mr. Chairman, you just did something that — I’m trying to be cordial here — but you just accused the lady of lying,” Cummings said. ..." Elizabeth Warren hearing turns ugly - Meredith Shiner - POLITICO.com This yo yo has been a Congressman since 2005, so he is not some new rube fresh from the cornfields. How can this sort of person hold an office of respect? |

I m as lefty as it comes, and i must say this strikes me as just one more amongst hundreds of blowhard politicians during hearings. Hearings really bring out the ass in senators from both parties. Was it uncivil, and uncalled for? Definitely. Do i wish the tone were different? definitely. Is this a call to arms moment? Defintiely not.
Do I hope and pray that Warren has a written document backing her claim? OH yes pleeeeez. |

More boorishness from the folks who shouted "you lie!" during the president's State of the Union Address. The clown who pulled off that caper boasted of it in his fundraising ads, oblivious to the effect it had on those crucial independent voters outside of Dogpatch. Now they are attacking Grandma on TV. Right wing radio has turned the GOP base into a lynch mob. It has made Limbaugh millions and the Republican Party a laughingstock.

"“You had no agreement… you’re making this up, Ms. Warren. You’re simply — this is not the case,” McHenry said before being interrupted by a Democrat on the committee, Rep. Elijah Cummings of Maryland. as a resident 'o the great state 'o North Carolina, i probably read 'bout representative Patrick McHenry a good deal more than most 'o the folks here on USPO. he be a devout partisan and i find him rather obnoxious...when we complain 'bout endless partisan bickerin' on capitol hill, this be precisely the kind 'o scallywag that we here on USPO be talkin' about. he be a loose cannon, and bile comes outta his gullet on a weekly basis...an embaressment to me state. State Republican leaders scrambled Wednesday to distance themselves from comments made by U.S. Rep. Patrick McHenry, who suggested that his party would use race as a determining factor in redrawing North Carolina's congressional districts to give GOP candidates maximum advantage. McHenry declined a request from The News & Observer on Wednesday to expand on or clarify his remarks. His office said the congressman would have no further comment on the issue. http://www.newsobserver.com/2011/05/...districts.html and in 2009, he further endeared himself to the wingnut faction 'o the GOP here in North Carolina; At a Lincolntown town hall, Patrick McHenry recently revealed he’s a “birther“: someone firmly convinced that Barack Obama is not a U.S. Citizen. Many Republicans are embarrassed to be associated with these conspiracy theorists, who have (in many cases in many different ways) tried to prove Barack Obama, largely because he’s black, is not a citizen. In the meeting, according to the Charlotte Observer: McHenry declined to affirm Obama’s citizenship, instead saying: “I haven’t seen evidence one way or the other.” http://republicansagainstpatrickmche...-as-a-birther/ i could go on fer quite a while 'bout him, but the thing thats always stuck in me craw be the complete and total hard-on this moon faced hawk has had o'er our war in Iraq. if it were up to him, we'd be deployin' troops thar fer the next century. - MeadHallPirate |

Unfortunately this is just business as usual for ConReps. Come to think of it, lots of trash of all races vote democrat. Lots of trash of all races vote republican too. Perhaps we could get away from this ridiculous two party, blame the other guy kind of system? Get the government mostly out of our lives. I'd take that over European Socialism any day o the week. |
