Default Pakistan warns US about future raids
Pakistan has given the USA a stern warning:

Pakistan's prime minister warned the United States Monday that his country could respond to any future U.S. raids on its soil with "full force," in the latest escalation of rhetoric in the wake of Usama bin Laden's death. What will be the USA's repsonse? We'll stike Pakistan with even more billions in aid? Damn, when will the Obama admin sprout a pair and talk to the Pakis like a dutch uncle?

My bet is the 3.4 billion we have budgeted to give them this year won't be cut one iota.........go ahead and sabre rattle, we'll keep the money coming. Donald Trump is right..........the whole world laughs at the USA.

The clue word is "could" notice he did not say they "would" this is just blustering to make them feel good. They want our money, our hard earned tax money, or in today's world "borrowed money". Of course they laugh at us.

The USA is not exactly popular with a lot of the Pakistani people and the alliance we have with their government is cause for much issue over there. The Pakistani government's main concern is the Pakistani people, so they'll obviously tailor their remarks around what they think will please their citizens the most. With governments being overthrown left and right these days, it's obviously in their own best interests to act tough.

If they actually meant it, they're free to tell the US to go fuck itself at any time. But, since they haven't..

Statements like that are intended to pacify the almost-extremists in their population. The extremists aren't pacifiable in any event.

This right here is what I was going on about in other threads in relation to dealing with a very rough decision in handling Pakistan going forward. The more I hear about the growing issues between the US and Pakistan I further question what, if anything, they knew about Bin Laden living well enough up in their country. It really is like paying a country for some influence just to in the end have them not really like us all this much. Makes me also wonder how many of our other targets are doing just fine living inside Pakistan. Who is Pakistan really trying to appeal to with "warnings" like this, and a better question is why?

We should also keep in mind that the whole reason they're saying this to begin with is because we've already gone into their country, killed some dudes, blew some shit up, then balled the fuck out before they had any time to react.

Unless they want to try and convince us that this one time was just a fluke and that they're really, super duper serious about confronting us next time, I'd chalk this up to them talking big but with little substance to back it up.

Fuck them.

Unless they're able to prove otherwise, I'm going to go ahead and accept that they were knowingly harboring Bin Laden. As such, the only thing they deserve is a nice carpet-bombing...

Its a dance, for the populations there, and here.

If Pakistan was serious about actions, they would tell the US to stop busting up Pakistani roads with US military traffic headed to Afghanistan.

We have no way to get our supplies to Afghanistan other than by Pakistani highways. Both sides know that. If Pakistan were to tell us to stop using their highways we would have to abandon Afghanistan within weeks.

Pakistan is more than in their rights to be angry at us. We're a terrible ally and probably the biggest source of terrorism in this world. 30,000 Pakistanis are dead because of us and ignorant right-wingers expect Pakistan to praise us? Unbelievable.

According to who? George W. Bush?

No thanks.

Until someone can prove otherwise they were innocents murdered at the hands of the U.S. government, the real terrorist.

The main concern of the Pakistan government is preserving the power and status of the elite minority who control it. Blustering at the USA is a useful ploy.

Real democracy in Pakistan would probably result in the Islamist tribal states of Pashtunistan and Punjabistan. No more Pimm's Cup at the cricket matches. Much as the rulers of Pakistan may fear America's bumbling interventions in the name of GWOT, they fear their own masses far more.

You don't consider Bin Laden a "real" terrorist?

I'm sure he would've enjoyed having your support. Of course, since he's now part of the food chain, I guess it doesn't matter.

Oh, and you know who my favorite New York Met of all time is?

BILL BUCKNER!!

Hehehehehe...

No it was not George W. Bush it was Obama, Obama's the one that gave the order to kill the scumbags. And I guess according to you, Obama should be in jail for giving such an order, as he is the real terrorist, not OBL

They're definitely extremists, not almost-extremists.

I'll put it this way. I don't want us to go to war with Pakistan, but if any nation needs an ass kicking, it's Pakistan.

Paaaaakistan is NOT an ally. Pakistan is evil, ie Muslim.
They need to be shown that they are impotent.
Placating Pakistan is a worthless endevour.
They have nowhere near the power of USA. They, their prime minister, warning us(USA) is a joke. He does that to placate radical muslims there.
These people? need to be shown real power and they need to bow and STFU There is NO ALLAH.Carter (POS) said they need respect because they have 100 nucs. Bull shit!
Pakistan needs to be read the "riot act"--bow or be destroyed. Get in bitches or die.
Too bad BO has balls only when he sees a political prize for the only thing he cares about--2012 election. He distortes by saying 55 to 45 when CIA said 80to 60 % likelyhood of success.
Libs bow and succomb. Fuck them all!
