Well--this cuts it. Unbelievable video of how far the Union goes. To me--it's one thing to say--Yeah I missed work to go to the protest--(thereby being a stand up person and admitting it)--but for the Union to organize doctors to write out fake sick slips--so these people will be excused from work--is beyond the pale. And they're on the tax-payer dime-- Meaning with a sick note fom a doctor--they get paid for it. I really don't think I would want my kids being taught by these teachers. I mean--after all--they apparently don't understand the concept of you-tube--and video cameras yet--LOL. Who is dumb enough to call in sick--and then get their mug in front of a camera at a protest-and one that is certain to show up on the net--or cable network news?--LOL

Typical union tactic, remember the teamsters union stopping non union truck driver and stealing all the cargo and the dock workers stealing everything they could get their hands on. Hell they would hijack the ship if they thought they could get away with it. Unions are notorious for "mussel" tactics. Now they get bogus doctors slips which is fraud. But heck unions are used to committing crimes to get their way. This is all about union greed and the hell with everyone else. |

Democrat President FDR did not allow government workers to organize--and as we see now he had a very good reason for it. This is all about the unions and how many dues that they can collect and nothing else. To me--having union members on the taxpayers dime--is like letting the fox guard the chicken pen. They should not be allowed to control the state's or localities budget--by using these kind of tactics. It's more than obvious that these teachers and other government workers could care less about the state they live in--or the students they teach. And we wonder why our kids are failing in this country and are behind other nations that pay 10% of the amount we throw at education. |

I don't like unions. Fake doctors' notes should be grounds for firing. If its actually not a doctor signing the notes, then that person is potentially in trouble for fraud, and possibly the union employee for going to someone who wasn't a doctor to get a note ... although you'd have to prove that the union employee knew the person wasn't a doctor. I doubt the doctor's notes will amount to anything in the vast majority of cases. Also, don't forget, the schools were closed, so the vast majority of striking teachers don't need notes since the schools were closed. Only the ones that called in would potentially need medical excuses, and the union rules potentially only require that for extended absences (the contract I worked under in industry said you only needed a doctor's note for 3 or more consecutive days of absence). |

What but unions provide a concentrated pressure point on the body politic for the working middle class?
Compare that to all the pressure on politians from the rich and, therefore, powerful. And yet the conservatives can't stand letting even this last bastion of middle class interest power survive. They have to try to kill it, so there will be nothing left to restrain the interests of the rich and powerful. |

Do you have any evidence to support your contention that the unions are behind the doctors donating their services? Doctors aren't typically union, I hate to break it to you. Maybe Walker will push to yank the licenses of all doctors too, that would really make him popular and would undoubtedly lower healthcare costs. After viewing the videos at my request last night, Dr. Arthur Derse called me up exclaiming, "Holy mackerel! It's much worse than it looked in the paper. I'm stunned, absolutely stunned." Dr. Derse is the Director of Center for Bioethics and Medical Humanities a the Medical College of Wisconsin. "When all's said and done, it's really the profession of medicine that has the black eye in this case," he says. It's sad, but what puzzles me most is how in the world three of the four physicians I can identify from these videos and other media reports are faculty members of UW's Family Medicine department, and one is a senior resident in that same department. It's a good training program, committed to providing sorely-needed primary care doctors to the state of Wisconsin. It teaches professionalism, and its faculty are supposed to model integrity. What were they thinking? http://www.theatlantic.com/national/...testers/71500/ |

And you can bet that the union had everything to do with them being there--regardless if they were union members or not. It's also very possible that one of their in-law union members encouraged them to be there. There is definitely an association. In fact--it wouldn't surprise me in the least that Union dues were going to all those "cut and run" democrat senators who have fled the state for hotel and meal expenses. |

Hate to tell you this--but those doctor's licenses should be YANKED. They sign a hypocritical oath of honesty and integrity in their practice of medicine. Have you actually examined one of the notes? Seen what was written on one? No? Then how dare you call for someone to lose their entire livelihood? To lose their license to do their business? |
