Kind of ironic to see this happening in the US from a peaceful protester. Ray McGovern is arrested for his silent protest of Hillary Clinton.
OpEdNews - Article: Former CIA Veteran Ray McGovern Discusses Brutal Arrest at Secretary Clinton's Internet Freedom Speech On Tuesday, as U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke on issues of free speech at George Washington University, 71-year-old former CIA analyst Ray McGovern was assaulted, dragged from the room and double handcuffed causing profuse bleeding. What had he done to elicit this treatment? He stood in "silent witness." Apparently an old man standing silently with his back turned in the presence of a government figure is now considered disorderly conduct, warranting jail time. |

I can't find this story anywhere else, not even on Al Jazeera or BBC. Usually they both show breaking news as a rotating banner and are ahead of US news by hours. Think I'll wait to comment until I can read more about it. |

I actually first read it on a reliable blogger site, but googled Ray McGovern Arrest to find the article I linked.
Does it really surprise you that western MSM wouldn't cover it? Ray McGovern has some minor notoriety because he was a 27-year CIA analyst who scoffed at Colin Powell's presentation to the UN about WMDs, and he has been outspoken against both the Bush admin and the Obama admin - the article correctly references his run-in with Rumsfeld which I have seen on youtube. Rumsfeld > Hillary it seems. |

Well, I suppose that may be true....especially since liberals always manage to find something to be pissed off about....except Rachel Maddow....she seems to be solid gold. Can't say much about Maddow. I've heard bits of her show a few times when traveling for work - makes for good background noise when working at the hotel. |

Must be because you haven't looked. Here's a take from Alternet which, to my understanding, is a liberal approved site.....and even they take a decidedly dim view of the incident. Are you trying to make some big deal of this? Are you baiting me, in hopes that I will respond in anger? Apparently so, as you have no problems with people that make comments before finding out the whole story. You are dismissed, go play with yourself. |
