Default NAB chief has unearthed Zardari-Nawaz ‘muk muka’: Imran
ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday condemned the obvious collusion between the Zardari regime and the house of Sharifs, citing the statement of NAB chief.
The NAB chairman has said that President Zardari had barred him from reopening cases against Nawaz Sharif.
Imran said what more evidence was needed of an underhand deal between Zardari and Nawaz.
Imran said the nation had been seeing the deal unfolding on numerous occasions in the last four years.
“Nawaz helped Zardari get elected as president, then both parties formed a coalition government in Punjab,” the PTI chief said.
“We still remember that whenever Zardari was in trouble, Nawaz came to his rescue, making an excuse that the system had to be saved,” he said.
“On one occasion, Nawaz said even if the entire PPP deserts Zardari, he would be there to help him,” Imran added.
Imran said that despite Shahbaz Sharif’s antics, the PML-N and PPP colluded during the Senate election, then in the by-elections, and now in ensuring that fresh elections were not held until next year.
He said the latest episode in which the NAB chief had promised to go easy on Nawaz had surprised no one.
“It is the nation’s money that has been looted by Zardari and the Sharifs and NAB is duty bound to aggressively pursue the cases in which the countrymen have been robbed,” the PTI chief said.
He said it was a strange argument that no further cases would be opened against politicians because the elections were near.
“In fact, a house cleaning is essential before the elections,” Imran demanded.
He said the NAB chairman was no one to arbitrarily decide that prosecution against looted wealth be halted.
The PTI chairman said his party would not tolerate this “muk muka” between Zardari, Nawaz and NAB.
It will pursue this matter right to the end and if NAB hesitated in taking the looted wealth cases further, it reserved the right to take up the matter with superior courts, Imran said.
