Default Malik orders suspension of mobile phone service in Lyari
ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik today ordered the suspension of mobile phone service in Lyari, where police operation entered the fifth day on Tuesday.

He said that Rangers could also be called in if police failed to complete the operation.

According to a statement today, Interior Minister said that suspension of mobile phone service would aid the police operation.

The Interior Minister also announced that martyred police officer Fahad Khan would be awarded Pakistan Police Medal.

Separately, funeral prayers for Constable Shahid, who was gunned down in Gulistan-e-Johar on Monday, were offered at DIG East Office.

Speaking to newsmen, IG Mushtaq Ahmed that Lyari operation would continue till the last moment. He said curfew could be imposed if needed.
