While talking to media before departure, Bukhari said the memogate scandal was a bunch of lies and aimed at destabilizing the government and people of Pakistan.

‘Mansoor Ijaz is a liar and my cross-examination will expose him,’ he said. 'Huge money from the public exchequer has been spent on the foreign investigations.'

‘I swear nothing would come out of this and all was done to stop Senate polls,’ Zahid Bukhari added.
