Default Missing prisoners case: SC terms intel agencies
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) Thursday termed the report submitted by the intelligence agencies in missing prisoners case unsatisfactory, Geo News reported.

A three-member bench of the apex court comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Tariq Pervez was hearing the constitutional petition.

Which agency is holding these prisoners, the CJP questioned. We have to see why four prisoners lost their lives, he remarked.

The SC on February 14 sought records from the intelligence agencies about the whereabouts of the prisoners prior to January 26, 2012.

Raja Muhammad Irshad, counsel for the agencies, elaborated about the sacrifices made by the agencies upon which the CJP observed that only Constitution can be followed.

The court praised KP Chief Secretary Ghulam Dastagir over the report he submitted to the bench about the circumstances under which the detainees were allowed to be admitted to the Internment Centre by the internment authority on January 26, 2012.

Later, the hearing of the case was adjourned till March 16.
