KARACHI - The first direct contact between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leadership and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) finally came on Sunday when PTI Chairman Imran Khan ran into MQM leaders at a wedding on Sunday. PTI chief Imran Khan was attending the wedding of party leader Dr IS Alvi’s daughter when he came across four MQM leaders, the most prominent among them Waseem Akhtar, who were also invited. The MQM leaders offered their chief Altaf Hussain’s wishes to Khan and in response the PTI chief thanked them for the support their party had extended to him while he was holding his rally in Karachi. ”We have captured the cities of Punjab and putting pressure on the paper tiger there,” Khan told the MQM leaders. They also discussed ways to improve ties between their parties. |
