ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar on Wednesday said deadlock had been melted over the 20th amendment during the talks held with the leadership of the ruling PPP today, Geo News reported.
Talking to media, he said progress was achieved over his party's recommendations during the negotiations. He said it would become clear by tomorrow whether a consensus on the matter could be reached or not. Pakistan People's Party leader Khursheed Shah, brushing aside any deadlock, also claimed that progress had been made towards evolving a consensus over the 20th amendment. He said recommendations had come from both sides and the PPP leadership would be briefed about the same. "However, it is possible that leadership of our party or of the opposition may not agree on these recommendations," he added. Shah said the Prime Minister would be briefed about the progress achieved on the matter. "Both the government and opposition would hold consultations with their respective leaderships," he said, adding the matters will be finalized in a day or two. |
