Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif is leaving on Sunday (today) for the United Kingdom for a two-day visit.
However, the reason for his visit could not be ascertained. Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif presided over a high-level meeting for fixing the priorities of Annual Development Programme for the year 2011-12 here on Saturday. Senior Advisor to CM Sirdar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, Opposition Leader in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Senator Ishaq Dar, Members National Assembly Saud Majid, Khurram Dastagir, Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, Chairman Planning & Development, Secretaries Finance, Health, Irrigation, Communication & Works, Education and Housing Departments also participated. The meeting reviewed in detail fixation of priorities of Annual Development Programme for next financial year and the participants tabled their proposals in that regard. Meanwhile, Members National and Punjab assemblies, belonging to various districts, met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here on Saturday. During the meeting, they apprised the CM of ongoing development schemes and people’s problems in their respective areas. Riaz Malik, Sardar Mansab Ali Dogar, Farhana Afzal and Sardar Wajid Ali Dogar called on the CM. They paid tributes to Shahbaz Sharif on renouncement of foreign aid, and said 180 million people were with him over his bold decision. |
