Think Progress: http://thinkprogress.org/special/201...-debt-ceiling/
About a dozen religious leaders were arrested in the Capitol rotunda today after they refused to end their public prayers calling for “an equitable resolution to the debt ceiling debate,” according to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), which organized the protest. The leaders noted that default would be catastrophic, but current plans to raise the debt limit would still include “severe spending cuts to the programs and services that support the poorest and most vulnerable people living in the U.S. and around the world.” |

Wow. So many comments I want to make on this...one is that it's really great to see religious leaders campaigning for social justice causes, rather than discriminatory **** like gay marriage. Two, it's ironic that this was posted on a site like Think Progress, rather than, say, FOX news, which does such a *great* job covering the "war on Christmas." And following from that, this is yet another division between Tea Partiers and conservatives and actual practicing Christians rather than those who claim Christianity in name only. And fourth, arrested for praying? That's kind of ****ed up...
