Default In defense of Sarah Palin
Yes, I said it... Maybe the Apocalypse is here after all.

This coverage of her Paul Revere comment is way over the top. It almost makes anyone who refeeds the video as guilty as she is about attention spans or the likes. Listen to the comment: She says Revere's ride warned the British they wouldn't be taking our weapons. While it's stated backwards, she knows Revere was on the side of the Americans, just words it strangely. It was perhaps a slip said in a distracted second, but she recovered without putting him on the wrong side and she didn't say Revere was riding to warn the British of an impending attack. Her comment makes Revere anti-British, and perhaps is a stronger way of pointing out Revere's ride and it's importance to the Americans: Her way makes it a threat to the British.

If people assault her over this one, they are doing more to help her, not hurt her. Those who do are guilty of posting just for the sake of it, without paying attention to what's actually said. It's posting just for the sake of being anti-Palin, and that's ignorant. It gives her undeserved media attention, and backs her claim that she gets unfair negative treatement in the media. If she had said Revere warned the British of an imminent attack, they yeah, skewer her to your heart's content. This comment though is borderline enough that to go nuts about it is to bolster those who think she's being treated unfairly.
