Default Huntsman: 'Call me crazy,' I believe in evolution, global warming
The Hill: http://thehill.com/blogs/e2-wire/677...global-warming

Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman took to Twitter Thursday to offer his support for evolution. Huntsman made the tweet shortly after Texas Gov. Rick Perry offered comments that cast doubt on evolution — his comments can be interpreted as criticism of Perry.

“To be clear. I believe in evolution and trust scientists on global warming. Call me crazy,” tweeted Huntsman, the former ambassador to China.

Perry has also raised questions about whether humans are contributing to global warming.

Huntsman’s tweet will raise questions about whether he has the conservative bona fides to win the Republican presidential nomination. Huntsman has carved out a niche in the primary fight as a centrist, but it is unclear whether GOP voters are looking for that in a candidate this year.

Perry mentioned evolution during a meet-and-greet Thursday morning in Portsmouth, N.H., while being questioned by a young boy who was prompted by his mother to ask the governor about evolution and science.

“You know, it’s a theory that’s out there, and it’s got some gaps in it. In Texas we teach both creationism and evolution in our public schools,” Perry said. “Because I figure you're smart enough to figure out which one is right.”

Shouldn't this be in the global warming thread????

We all have known for years that Huntsman is a MINO (Mormon in Name Only) and a RINO (Republican in Name Only). He belongs in the Democrat Party. That's why he barely registers in the GOP polls. He should quit the GOP, become a Democrat and try again in 2016 or 2020.

What pushes him out of acceptance, the fact that he's opened a science book and understood it or the fact that he exercised diplomacy rather than warfare in dealings with a foreign country?

And what the hell does Mormon In Name Only even mean? A man's faith is his own dialogue. You can't possibly know what's in Hunstman's heart or soul, though it's safe to say it probably involves a great deal less hate than is in yours.

He's irrelevant because he is not crazy, the GOP has gone off it's hinges, into the ditch, flat out bonkers.

I come from a very Republican family and I know some of my deceased family would never recognize what the GOP has morphed into.

Has for Huntsman, I feel for him, he must be shaking his head and thinking, WTF?

I read your posts on here, and have for years and years. For you to call someone a "MINO" (what in the world is that?) is the pot calling the kettle black. You disregard everything the Church stands for if it goes against what your real "God" Rush Limbaugh says. Mr. Huntsman thinks for himself -- something we really are urged to do in our faith. Did you think he was a Mormon in Name Only when he urged businesses in Utah to lower their flags to half mast when President Hinkley died?

Honestly, you can, you really and truly can, disagree with a political canidate and not namecall. It's possible. I realize that your BFF Rush Limbaugh doesn't agree with that, but it's the truth.

It's from the sick D!ldohead belief that they are the only true judges of morality and religion. Kinda like how they can blame every Muslim for 9/11 and try to stop building a mosque near the WTC site, and they also have the right to denounce the Norwegian shooter as non-Christian on solely their own authority.

As for RINO, well, former Democrat Rick Perry would know all about that!
