At 10:10pm ET, with 75% of votes counted, the tally in NY-26 is looking like this:

Hochul (D): 48%
Corwin (R): 42%
Davis (Tea Party): 8%
Murphy (Green): 1%

AP has called the race for Hochul, though Corwin has already had a judge impound the results so her legal team can determine whether they can challenge the results and strip away enough Hochul votes to declare a win for themselves.

Recall that this was a district that voted for McCain over Obama 52%-46%. Republican/exhibitionist Chris Lee won the district with 74% of the vote just six months ago.

And then the Republicans in Congress and in various states began to unveil their plans, having won control of the US House and various state legislatures. And the reaction among even rock-ribbed Republican voters was, "Hold on a minute... you want to do what again?"

The GOP line was that the Tea Party candidate would pull votes away from the Republican and this was not a mandate on the Ryan Medicare Plan. Pundits say that would only be debatable if Davis finished in double digits. It doesn't look like that's going to happen.

I may be moving back to NY soon, and to an area I believe is usually Republican... It may be fun to have a vote up there...
