Default Ex-Afghan spy chief: I knew where bin Laden was
Time to cut off the funds, IMO.

WASHINGTON – Afghanistan's former intelligence chief says he knew Osama bin Laden was hiding in Pakistan four years ago, but Pakistan's leaders rejected his claims. He told CBS: "They take your money. They do not co-operate. They created the Taliban. They are number one in nuclear proliferation." Nuff Said!!

I don't know if I'd take this guy's word either. The Afghan-Pakistan-India relationship was in much worse disarray before 9/11. Then they all "learned" to behave when they realized the world was coming to their backyard. I'm sure Afghanistan will take more shots at Pakistan in the near future, as old rivalries get set to be rekindled.

If/when we do leave the region, I suspect it will get ugly, and perhaps a little scarier with nukes now in the picture.

You make some good points, db44, Don't forget India in that mix too. I just am sick of being the all everything for the world, (especially when we are not asked to be, but that's another story) But it seems like we get played the fool all to often. I know it's not really the answer but sometimes I wish we would just worry about the USA and the people in need here, and just let the rest of the world screw each other and not be the Knight in Shining Armor all the time.
