The damage the South has seen the last few days is horrible, no one deserves this and I pray for the survivors to find peace and normalcy in their lives as they attempt to put there communities and lives back together.
http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/new...ls.php?ref=fpb BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (Reuters) - Devastating storms and tornadoes raked though the South, killing at least 185 people as they ripped houses to rubble, flipped cars and uprooted trees and power lines, officials said on Thursday. In the deadliest series of storms in nearly four decades in the United States, 128 people were killed in Alabama, the worst-hit state. In Mississippi, 32 were killed, while 10 people died in Georgia and 11 in Arkansas. Louisiana and Tennessee also reported deaths as the clusters of powerful tornadoes and storms tore a swathe of destruction from west to east. Some of the worst devastation occurred on Wednesday in Alabama, where a massive mile-wide tornado slammed into Tuscaloosa, home to the University of Alabama, killing at least 15 people, including some students. |

*editing this*
I know several people who have lost their homes because of the flooding that has now taken over the majority of Arkansas. I live 45 minutes away from where a levee broke and people have lost almost everything. I don't know what God is saying or thinking. I just know that the state of Arkansas has come together and to help one another. The lives lost from the storms in Arkansas and the one from Alabama is horrible and my heart goes out to these families who lost someone they loved or lost their homes. I can't even imagine the heartache that these families are going through while living in shelters or staying with other family members. Having to go back and see everything you worked your whole life for gone...wow. Things happens, weather happens. In my opinion, God doesn't hate. He gets angry, mad, dissapointed, but I don't think He ever hates. I don't like Westboro, I don't think they're Christians. But, God will judge them in His own time. I know that much. So is God talking to the South? and if so what is he saying? I sure wish the Westbro Baptist A-holes would get blown away, just so I could say God hates, Haters. This quote, it makes me think you feel that the South deserved all these storms. |

I don't want to assume so I'll ask first. Are you trying to imply that the south got all these storms because God hates us? Well It's called Sarcasm, I am sick of hearing God hates, _____________ and allowed ___________ to happen. Because I am a Liberal Christian, and Our God is bigger than petty BS.
Upon closer inspection I realized the damage is beyond horrific, I am sorry for my insensitive comments towards the Southern portion of OUR UNITED STATES. |

I'm sorry, I can't tell sarcasm on the internet. :-) I apologize for getting uppity about it, I've watched all this horrible weather for so long. Its kind of a sore spot, I am sorry.
I agree with you on people blaming God hates and he let this and that happen. Things happen for a reason, its not always God's fault. |

I don't think God hates the South or he would have dealt with Slavery himself, along with Westbro and Terry the Koran burning kook. God does not punish us for bad things we do, the fall out is punishment enough, Cheat on your wife, lose your marriage and kids hate you, Steal, get caught and go to jail, etc. I was taught God loves, not hates, not even the sinner. Jesus did take the Religious leaders of his day to task for being judgmental hypocrites, he hung out with hookers, tax collectors and others considered low life's, he was into inclusion not blame.

People pick and choose what they want the Bible to say. There are two commandments, according to Christ.
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole mind, and with thy whole strength; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. But the way a lot of Evangelicals act, it's obvious they aren't biding by those two commandments. |

Back to the subject line... I would hazard to guess the record ozone loss in the Arctic has had an effect upon all the weather patterns in the northern hemisphere - kinda like a domino effect. Similar effects (especially in Australia) in the recent past have been attributed to a record ozone hole that formed over Antarctica too. Something tells me its going to be a rough year for everyone across the whole northern hemisphere, not just us.
