The town of Benton Harbor, MI, population about 10,000 black residents, has been taken over by state-appointed "emergency financial manager (EFM)," Joe Harris. Mr. Harris has ordered all city boards and commissions to take no actions in regards to town business. They are only allowed to open meetings, read minutes and adjourn meetings.

Michigan's Gov. Snyder, acting under a bill calling for "financial martial law," has instructed these EFMs to come into a city, take over the government, hire and fire elected officials, cancel contracts, bust unions, appropriate city funds and dissolve towns. They can do this without input from citizens, their elected officials or referendums. The citizens are powerless. The citizens have no representation.

This is the most frightening abuse of government power I've seen in my lifetime. If this is not stopped and spreads to other states, the United States of America will become unrecognizable as a Democratic nation.

I read about the possibility of this happening a few weeks ago, and yes you are right this is frighting, and so against the grain of what the USA is (was) about, and it may spread.
