The Tea Party is alive and well... in the Republican Congress of the United States, that's very clear. Speaker Boehner is serving two bosses, the Tea Party caucus and the other 80% of the Republican Party. The mainstream Republicans, and even some of the Tea Party are very afraid of being primaried by the even more radical right of the Tea Party crowd when they should be calling some of their ideas exactly what they are, crazy.
The same can be said for what's now happening in state legislatures. Some of these newly minted Tea Party folks want to push back but are running scared, some are pushing back. The Democrats are gearing up to take advantage. |
