Default New RNC Chairman Raises $3.5 Million in First Two Weeks on Job
Comrade Obama will probably be the biggest GOP fundraiser in history. If they can't get people to donate to get rid of Obama...then there is no hope.

The story goes on to say that the RNC has raised $5.7 million in January and has $2.1 million in the bank with $21.4 million (and rising) in debt. The DNC raised $7.8 million in January with $9.1 million in the bank and $16.8 million in debt.

The best possible commercial for Democratic fundraising is just watching what the new, far-right Republicans are doing in Congress and in state capitols. Cutting Planned Parenthood funding for disease prevention women's reproductive health services; cutting funding for Sesame Street, public television and public radio; pushing for a government shutdown that will put hundreds of thousands of taxpayers out of work, de-funding the EPA and every consumer protection agency. And gifting hundreds of millions of dollars in tax breaks to the handful of wealthiest people in the country, who aren't using that money to hire people.

You couldn't write a better ad for the Democratic Party. I expect this election to cross the billion-dollar mark in fundraising. And I expect a lot of districts that gave Republicans a chance in 2010 to rethink that idea and replace them with Democrats again over the next couple of election cycles.

I read recently that the House voted to include $5 million in funding for a NASCAR driver, while cutting all funding for PBS and NPR. I realize that that's a drop in the bucket, but still......
