South side charity hopes it can still deliver gifts after vandals torch van

Someone set fire to a van on the South Side last month and may have destroyed the Christmas hopes of hundreds of children.

The charity Kidz Korna each Christmas gives away thousands of presents, but vandals last month set fire to the van they used to pick up donated toys.

"The countdown is on for us," said Delece Williams, the founder of the charity which helps children who've been exposed to violence and child abuse.

Williams and other volunteers now worry they won’t be able to get enough gifts for children in need.

Yeah, so anything happening in New haven is is George Bush's New Haven because he lived there once? Or Mitt Romney's Mexico because his family hid out there? Not to mention that the work Obama did in Chicago was on the side of the people running the charity van.

Seriously, odds are that the van had an Obama sticker on it and that some angry right-winger torched it. After all, gifting is just socialism, right Regis?

As long as no one was injured...I'm going to take this as a sign of the Almighty's frustration with Christmas as a consumerist scam, rather than the religious holiday it should be.
