Libs love to have fun with "Bushisms"---crazy stuff Bush has said---but never do anything with all the bumbling nonsense Obama says. Here's a make-believe speech someone made up using actual quotes from past Obama speeches:

I mean, not a breathalyzer, ah, I don’t know what the term is in Austrian for that…

I didn't note Sarah Palin's verbal screw-up when she called South Korea North Korea in an interview with Glenn Beck. Why? Because in context it seemed like a simple verbal slip-up, the kind everyone makes from time to time. Yes, when you listen to the whole thing, there's a weird, nervous-laughter defensiveness about her recognition that she got something wrong, but she gets the benefit of the doubt in my book.

What's really fascinating is her response. It's a merciless, grammar-free, sneering compilation of Obama verbal gaffes.

This may be a smart-ass retort; it may be useful inoculation against a potentially damaging gaffe; it may even be a well-researched blog-post, but what it isn't is anything approaching the kind of character we expect in a president. A simple respect for the office she seeks would not reflect itself in these increasingly callow, sarcastic, cheap jibes at a sitting president. But sadly, like so many now purporting to represent conservatism, there is, behind the faux awe before the constitution, a contempt for the restraint and dignity a polity's institutions require from its leaders.

There is no maturity here; no self-reflection; no capacity even to think how to appeal to the half of Americans who are already so appalled by her trashy behavior and cheap publicity stunts. There is a meanness, a disrespect, a vicious partisanship that, if allowed to gain more power, would split this country more deeply and more rancorously than at any time in recent years. And that's saying something.

This was the turning point. This is the excact time and place I knew a bad wind was blowing across our nation. This McCain/Palin rally happened in my hometown, Clearwater, Fl.

Oct. 6, 2008 Clearwater, Fl "...arriving reporters were greeted with shouts and taunts by the crowd of about 3,000. Palin then went on to blame Katie Couric's questions for her "less-than-successful interview with kinda mainstream media." At that, Palin supporters turned on reporters in the press area, waving thunder sticks and shouting abuse. Others hurled obscenities at a camera crew. One Palin supporter shouted a racial epithet at an African American sound man for a network and told him, "Sit down, boy." "...Palin, speaking to a sea of "Palin Power" and "Sarahcuda" T-shirts, tried to link Obama to the 1960s Weather Underground. "One of his earliest supporters is a man named Bill Ayers," she said. ("Boooo!" said the crowd.) "And, according to the New York Times, he was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, 'launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and our U.S. Capitol,' " she continued. How right you are, Andrew Sullivan. In the South, we have a name for people like Sarah Palin. We call them trailer trash. I wish she were just the average trailer trash, but she's not. She's purposely divisive, calculatingly incendiary and yes, dangerous in her demagoguery.

All of these slips of the tongue aside--because half of that paragraph was a perfectly logical sentence--I'm going to assume that "bumbling nonsense" in Regis-speak means "words more than two syllables long."
