USA Today:
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/...g-muslim_N.htm A Manhattan cabbie who was stabbed Tuesday night by a Putnam County man questioned Wednesday whether the attack stemmed from the contentious debate over creating a mosque near ground zero. Ahmed H. Sharif, 43, of Queens, was stabbed several times by Michael Enright, 21, of Southeast, N.Y., after Enright had asked Sharif if he was Muslim and the cabbie responded that he was, a police spokesman said. When officers responded to the scene around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sharif was outside the vehicle, suffering from stab wounds, after attempting to lock Enright inside the cab, a police spokesman said. Enright escaped but was captured nearby by police. The charges against Enright include attempted murder as a hate crime. |

I wonder how many high fives went up in the offices of Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Fox News and the extreme-right members of the GOP? For the stabbing part, that is.
If it had happened in front of that manic crowd of anti-Muslim protesters in NY over the weekend, I wonder how loudly they would have cheered? |

Really? You can tell he's a liberal from the article? How is that......is it because he was involved with "Intersections International, a Manhattan-based, multifaith and multicultural effort that seeks to promote justice and peace" that you would assume that?
Are you therefore acknowledging that conservatives are not concerned with promoting justice and peace? That would certainly be a welcome breakthrough for you, Paul! |

Are you therefore acknowledging that conservatives are not concerned with promoting justice and peace? That would certainly be a welcome breakthrough for you, Paul! Well, see from reading the article (knowing that the media does not fully report things)I was able to look up the organization online to get a more detailed look at Intersections International and from their site I was able to get this Intersections International is a New York-based global initiative dedicated to promoting justice, reconciliation and peace across lines of faith, culture, ideology, race, class, national borders and other boundaries that divide humanity. Founded in 2007, Intersections is a permanent multi-faith, multi-cultural effort of the Collegiate Churches of New York, the oldest corporation in North America, dating back to 1628. Using arts immersion, social marketing, intentional dialogue and other innovative methods, Intersections' work includes projects that promote pluralism in emerging democracies, eradicate ignorance regarding Islam, nurture global peacemakers, dismantle systemic discrimination against the LGBT community and initiate conversation among disparate groups to develop new ways of problem solving for some of society's most intractable issues. Intersections' work lies in three programmatic areas: amplifying marginalized voices, interfaith dialogue and cooperation and addressing the consequences of conflict. Liberal ideology in this speil is undeniable, you may try but it would be silly to see this as anything but a leftist group. Justice is just a word, most liberals have a completely different view of justice than most conservatives. What liberals mean by justice to conservative ears sounds like suppression of Liberty. And Justice to a Conservative sounds like the propagation of inequality to the Liberal. So cut out Conservatives must be against Justice crap! Just because Conservatives don't share your view of Justice. |
