Barack Obama showed great restraint as he delivered a speech yesterday – as a pesky fly buzzed around him and even landed on his face as he was speaking.
The President was shown repeatedly batting off the unwelcome attentions of the insect as he talked about healthcare in the East Room of the White House. 'We support compassion even for the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals,' Peta spokesman Bruce Friedrich said. ![]() Death stare: Mr Obama was caught on film last year swatting a fly dead 'We believe that people, where they can be compassionate, should be, for all animals.' Friedrich added he had sent a ‘Katcha Humane Bug Catcher’ to Mr Obama so he could get rid of the pesky insects without killing them.
