Mine jumped 46%. In the letter the insurance company sent me they stated that even though the first part of Obamacare doesn't go into effect until September 1, they decided to go ahead and implement the changes now. *Surprise!!!* So, effective July 1, 26-year-old "children" can be claimed on their parents policy---whether they're married or not, or whether they live at home or not!---and there's no more lifetime limits or pre-existing condition exclusions. So...in order to pay for all that premiums will jump 46%...for now. That's just great.
We all know the goal of Obamacare is to bankrupt the private health insurance business. And I must say, it is off to a rousing start. ![]() Survey: Individual Health Insurance Premiums Jump Kaiser foundation survey finds steep jump in individual health insurance premiums http://abcnews.go.com/Business/wireStory?id=10971283 |

Insurance companies have been doing this for decades, and that's one of the areas that the health care reform bill is acting on. You're lucky you haven't been in a situation where you had your policy cancelled simply because you were seriously ill and they decided you were costing them too much. You're luck you're not a woman who has been declined for a policy after having a child because childbirth qualifies as a pre-existing condition to some companies.
They're simply trying to cash in as much as they can in the months and years before gouging customers becomes illegal. And how does raising your premium translate into a path to bankruptcy? The major insurers will actually see a windfall of new customers once the provisions that curb abuses fall into place. |

Obama care is going to BANKRUPT this nation, just like universal health care is doing to the EU. We will end up with long waits for procedures and test, just like in Canada. Citizens will NOT have a choice about their insurance since employers will stop offering insurance (yes, this will happen. My employer has already said he will do it as soon as possible since it will save him over 700,000 per year). THANK YOU Obama!!!!!!! I did not vote for him to be put on Medicaid. There is no way our health care will flourish if the government has to pay for everyone. If you think it will, then you are very naive, just look at the countries who already have it, NONE of them have better health care then we do.
