Default Rasmussen: Nevada Senate: Angle 50%, Reid 39%
Wouldn't it be great if Harry Reid lost to a female tea-bagger???

Election 2010: Nevada Senate

Nevada Senate: Angle 50%, Reid 39%

Thursday, June 10, 2010

Sharron Angle, following her come-from-behind Republican Primary win Tuesday, has bounced to an 11-point lead over Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in Nevada’s closely-watched U.S. Senate race.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Nevada, taken Wednesday night, shows Angle earning 50% support while Reid picks up 39% of the vote. Five percent (5%) like some other candidate, and six percent (6%) are undecided.

A month ago, Angle led Reid 48% to 40% but ran poorest against the incumbent of the three GOP primary hopefuls as she has for months.

Reid will try to portray Angle, a Christian conservative who drew heavily on Tea Party support for her win, as unacceptable to the state. Still, the race for now continues to be about the incumbent, who earned 61% of the vote when he was reelected in 2004 but whose support in this election cycle against any Republican candidate has never risen above the low 40s.

Yeah, there are a lot of people who don't know much about her yet. Let's help 'em out.

Her platform:
-- Shut down Social Security
-- Shut down the Department of Education
-- Shut down the IRS
-- Pull the US out of the UN
-- Consider bringing back alcohol prohibition

I agree with three of those. Otherwise Social Security is in great need of reforming. But Alcohol Prohibition would be a disaster.

Social security is bankrupt anyways, so either shut it down or reform it. I've always thought we should withdraw from the UN...they are very corrupt and doing us no good. Education needs reforming in this nation...its going down the toilet. We need to compete with other nations, and our schools lack way behind. Lets get back to the basics of Language arts, Math, History, and Science (including computers). I would also like to see home economics brought back to our schools. If parents are not around much, who is going to teach them how to do everyday things around the house such as cooking and balancing your accounts. Leave foreign language to college classes, its pretty bad that our kids cannot properly write or speak the English language, but yet they are expected to learn how to speak and write in other languages in elementary school. Bring back daily gym class...I'm sure you would see some of these kids get healthier. Get the liberal agenda out of our schools....its not needed. As far as the IRS,I'm in the middle on this.

I hope the liberals get use to the fact that Obama can not do the job as they thought. We need to get new people into congress, and get all the career politicians out, this means both sides. I feel very strongly about having a 4 or 8 year term limit on each political position. Then I feel our government would be for the people more then about career politics.

Studies have shown again and again that languages are best learned at an early age. Europeans encourage multilingualism, including compulsory education from primary through undergraduate degree. In the Arab nations, multilingualism is also taught from an early age, with courses such as math and science taught in English. French is also considered a second language in many Arabic countries.

I learned a second language in junior high school, but I would like to see the U.S. require second language courses required in primary education and continued throughout undergraduate schooling. We definitely need to incorporate Spanish as a second language in American; after all, Hispanic and Latino populations are growing rapidly on this continent and the adjacent continent.

We have term limits now, it's called "voting." If people are too lazy or apathetic to vote, they deserve exactly what they get.
