I think the volume of voting on the Democratic side is a sign that we Liberal Progressives are still a power that the so-called Tea Party has underestimated. The amount of votes for the loser of the Democratic Primary in Kentucky was more than the winner of the Republican Primary, that racist fellow Rand Paul, who for some reason or the other hates Americans with disabilities?
Loved that Bill Halter forced Blanche Lincoln into a runoff ... she needs to GO! Mark Critz won John Murtha's seat, much to the Tea Party's chagrin *smirks* But the best of the night was Joe Sestak putting Arlen Specter out to pasture in the Democratic Party Primary in Pennsylvania. I'm sorry but 80 is way too old to be trying to make sense of complicated government bull crap, let alone he totally forgot he had switched to the DEMOCRATIC party. I see a bright future for Democrats/Liberals/Progressives in the November elections. Especially as the economy continues to improve and more benefits of the Health Care Reform kick in. Sorry Tea Party ... I know you had delusions of grandeur but time to get over it and realize you are a tiny minority of a tiny minor party of NO. Just my humble opinions ... carry on. |

I think Halter might be a better fit if only to get rid of Blanche who really peeved a lot of us Liberal/Progressives with her right-leaning, corporate loving attitude and actions.
And I forgot you lived in AR, Miss A. Won't bother to ask who you voted for because that's your business and it's your state. |

Here's the thing that bothers me about Halter, AZLion. Is that he sold off his business and sent all his jobs to India. That worries me, what's he going to do when he gets to DC? And its funny how in his commercials he doesn't really mention he was a part of the Clinton era.
But the light on the cloud for Dems is that Halter doesn't have the DC record that Lincoln has. SO when it because Halter VS Boozman..Halter could have a better chance to win. Its a good thing on one hand Lincoln is going to lose because she needs to step down and its kinda sad cause Lincoln has been in the Senate for AR for the longest time. |

Despite what all the yammering, talking head pundits are saying, I think it's too early to say what these few elections will mean for November. Plenty of time between now and then for all kinds of stumbles, bumbles, good and bad news. When this oil spill starts hitting wallets, voters will want to blame someone, and they'll do it at the polls. The economy will play a huge role in determining who votes for who come Fall. Immigration will be a red hot election issue. Of course, there will be more rentboy/spouse-cheating/kickback scandals come to light. Lots of juicy stuff to fuel the talk radio engines.
Then there's the anti-incumbent "movement," which frankly, I don't get. Ask these folks who they'll be voting for when they vote the incumbent out, and they don't seem to care. Vote the incumbent out -- as if some Joe Average, guy-next-store messiah will suddenly rise up and do what's right in Washington. Delusional, at best. |

I think he's got to just get out there an meet people face to face and explain the difference between the lies of the right-wing fringe and the accomplishments the Obama Administration has achieved in only 16 months. If you spell it out clearly for people, they do figure it out eventually. He's got a little over 5 months to do it.

What scares me about Sestak beating Specter is the very real possibility (more like a PROBABILITY) that the seat will go to the Republicans. Sestak might be a very tough sell in all of Pennsylvania's rural areas. |

Really? All the press out here is suggesting that Sestak has a much better chance head-to-head against a Republican in November than Specter would. But there are many moderate Republicans who might have preferred Specter over the GOP nominee, a truly right-wing guy. And Sestak doesn't have much name recognition in the middle and western parts of the state. Personally, I like Sestak, and I think he'll be a great Senator if he wins. But there is a pretty strong Republican party in PA, and I have my doubts. |
