i use yahoo as my home page and i find its more entertaining to just skip their blurbs and start surfing. subjects which interest me are: how many U S politicians have been shot, how many politicians have died before they reach old age, where most politicians live..........you get the picture.

the head chimpette is behind it..

and when I looked at my nieces High School schedule.. she has 5 physical education classes.. they take classes like college kids..mwf and w-th..she has no study hall..and she has a heavy academic schedule as well..I thought kids were supposed to be care free?

one of her classes is body sculpting..she is 14..

does this bother anyone else?

she isnt living in my state.. and they keep trying to get her skipped to a higher grade..and her parents resist it because, socially, she isnt ready..

but she is an over achiever..so it will be a busy school day and a busy evening before bed..

I think it would be overwhelming..at the same time, I remember being bored in school..I had already read ahead or something..

yes. her schedule does look overwhelming. is she in AP? it allows one course change in 10th, one change and one drop in 11th, and two drops and one change in 12th.

tell her its okay if she wants to drop it. i had to only go into the pricipals office for my son once, and it wernt pretty. they basicly shut their yap from then on and allowed him to make his own choices. she is being groomed to be a young adult. never call her a " kid " . since kindygarten this should be every parents idea.

she doesnt want to drop it..and I havent said anything to her..she wants to be on Broadway and has put a lot of time and energy into it..she even recently talked to her Mom about whether or not she was committed enough to move forward, knowing it would be a life with no children because of the busy schedule..

she got to go back stage this summer, for the Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast..

and while I know she has said this, since she was 4..I wish she was more of an academic..she had the brains for it..

she may not fall down..she is in plays and musicals all the time and has drama, singing and dancing after school a couple of days a week..it is too much for a kid but she wants to do it..

they tell her it is ok to quit but she doesnt..they support her, which is the thing to do..I guess..there has to be burn out somewhere..
