~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WHILE GOVERNEMNT CAN BE, WITH PROPER MANAGEMENT AND RESTRAINT, A USEFUL TOOL FOR MANAGING CRIMINALS..... IT IS FUNDAMENTALLY CRIMINAL.... AND IT IS A MAGNET FOR CRIMINALS.... WHO ALWAYS SEEK POWER. (ALWAYS!) LIKE FIRE.... IT WILL CONSUME ITS MASTER AS SOON AS IT IS ALLOWED TO. |
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WE'RE NOT SAINTS. WE CAN ASPIRE TO BE...AND OUGHT TO. THOSE WHO ASPIRE TO BE OTHERWISE REQUIRE RESTRAINT. THEY ARE FEW. BUT MALIGNANT. ...AND TOO MANY OF THEM POPULATE OUR GOVERNMENT OFFICES. MANY GOVERNMENTS, PAST AND PRESENT, CONSIST ENTIRELY OF CRIMINALS...OF THE MOST MALIGNANT SORT... AND THEIR HENCHMEN AND HEAD-BREAKERS. |

Because he gives the impression of having interests, beyond that of corporate toadying. No 'man of the people' he, but certainly no 'good ole boy' either. Not just another white, stuffed suit who hails from old money. Probably didn't rub shoulders with government cronies at university. Seems to give a fuck, even if you disagree with what he's doing. Not everyone's a Conservative, whose life revolves around their bank balance. And that must infallibly exert a great influence upon the public psyche. |

There is no stasis in human affairs. This is a fundamental truth. Life cannot, and will not, be reduced to a snapshot in time. It shall proceed, and despite any effort to arrest it's momentum. One cannot stem the flow. To attempt it is vanity. And the product is misery.
Both Liberals and Conservatives fail to comprehend this. Or if they do not, they pretend it is otherwise. No excess. No limitation. Only continuum. |

One cannot stem the flow. To attempt it is vanity. And the product is misery. Because, history is filled with examples of what happens if you do not.. And we're finite beings. We're here for only an instant. We have a natural right to function without undue interference from our servants.. If you let them go, they forget this.. They start thinking WE'RE the servants and they're the Lords.. It's a dangerous condition that can diminish, or even ruin outright, the lives of generations before it is checked.. IF it is checked. |

I think it's more that people are so crushed with the weariness of politics, they'll entertain anything that looks different at this point. Blind hope. All these green hoaxes, money to his cronies.. He sold us down the river to big Pharma and Insurance.. He's a cheap con artist.. But, some people just don't see that. If Bush did it, they'd see it instantly.. But they don't with this guy? |

I suspect many don't see it because they hate the Republicans so badly.. Bush(s) hurt them terribly.
People like SD and rocat warp reality as as not to find fault with anyone Republican. (Even vile slime like Trent Lott) Perhaps they're doing the same thing with Obama? "Yes, he's bad... But, omg.. The Republicans and Bush are much worse." |
