I mean, it's like Pelosi.. She openly advocates for food stamps and other government largess.. Should I feel sorry for her because she pays so much in taxes? Is it really such a tragedy that these people get what they want, and then have to pay for it?

I'm ok with "user fee" type taxation, like the gas tax, where you pay to the extent you use the benefits of the services.

I'm ok with a minimum tax to provide defense, at any level.

Beyond that, if there is any taxation, it should all come from the extremely wealthy.

We can agree on that. We see the administration attempting to cut defense spending, but not a single attempt to cut welfare. And welfare isn't even the big issue. It's that they're out of control and spending like there's no tomorrow. There may be. Who knows.

Who the hell are they to spend, spend, spend, then demand anything from anyone? We're not talking about saving this country. We're talking about funding silly shit. If you don't have kids to declare, you pay...stop assuming all poor people or the working class poor have all these exemptions preventing them from paying taxes, because we don't. Anyway, I laid out my views on taxation fairly clearly.

If there are going to be taxes beyond the absolute necessity, they should come from the very wealthy.

Because then you're not taking food off the table, or college savings out of the bank account, or that chance at starting a small business away.
