I hate to do it, but I have to agree with Towelie regarding this country's lack of a solid presidency over such a long span of time. I couldn't stand Bush when he was president, but back then, I thought Democrats knew how to do things right. I was excited when Obama was elected and I had a feeling he would fix the mess his predecessor caused. Lo and behold, that "hope and change" turned out to be more of the same... and then some. I also learned that Bush was a phony neo-conservative all along and not a true defender of the Constitution. I realized that true conservatism is the way our country was meant to run-- a compete 180 degrees from the way Bush ran it and Obama currently runs it. But the Republicans (the party that was supposed to stand for true conservatism) got fat and greedy over the decades, and essentially became a band of war-mongerers and eavesdroppers. Ron Paul is the one America truly needs, but doesn't want, since we have a nation of liberal slackers who want free perks and zero work. And even HE has some flaws, particularly his views on drugs, which I feel is a public health crisis and NOT a civil liberty.
