Looks to me like he's selling conservatives as liberal-lite...
This article does nothing for me. In fact, it disgusts me... http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinio...0lT_story.html Five myths about conservative voters "It used to be that conservatives supported smaller government on theoretical grounds: The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen; government should only do for people what they truly cannot do for themselves; government isn’t the solution, it is the problem. You’ve heard such comments from conservatives, and they’re the mantra of the tea party movement. They’re still part of conservative orthodoxy — which is why Republican candidates invoke them — but the underlying conservative belief system is shifting." |

John Derbyshire: Who Are We?—The “Dissident Right”?
So this is the other side of the Right, eh? Not bad; though of course nothing like as classy as the hushed, oak-paneled, Chambers-of-Commerce-financed precincts of Conservatism Inc.,whose entrance is now barred against me by an angel with a flaming sword. The furnishings are a bit cheesy in fact, if you look too closely, which of course you shouldn't. Do those drapes really match that carpet? Nice people, though—most of whom, truth be told, I've known for a decade or more. And after watching Conservatism Inc. for a quarter of a century running along behind History's great rumbling juggernaut squealing "Would you mind slowing down just a teeny bit, please?" there is always the faint hope that this other crowd might actually turn us back some way towards liberty, sovereignty, science, constitutionalism. http://www.vdare.com/articles/john-d...issident-right |

How do we get anywhere with a base that is unconcerned with the size of government, loves SS and Medicare, and favors amnesty?
I mean, is the only determining characteristic of the right the social issues, at this point? Is it just a matter of gay marriage and abortion? It seems like it, sometimes... |

Look guys, we all would like a true conservative who could win as our candidate. Unfortunately there is no one in the current crop of contenders that fits those criteria.
Consequently the next best thing is to remove obama and vote as many conservatives into congress as possible. You who are calling for anarchy and disolution of the US have no idea what you are asking for. Civil war, military coups, sesession movements, border wars, a complete collapse of the financial system, the power grid, and law enforcement. Believe me, you don't want 20 or 30 years of that--and you don't want it for your kids either. |
