(I knocked-off Spammie's thread title )
Isn't that what the bottom line is? Cons want to use logic, history and scientific facts to better everyone's lives, while Libs want to use emotion, ideology and ... fairy dust? What's ridiculous is that while ALL people are able to feel emotion, it's becoming more and more obvious that NOT all people are able to employ logic on the VALID facts of any given issue. Since when are (supposed) experts allowed to BLATANTLY LIE, with no fear of recrimination? Since when are our politicians allowed to blatantly lie, with no fear of recrimination? Our media services? It's absolutely mind-boggling, how out-of-control everything is spiraling in this spider's web of deceit, and we're getting further and further away from the truth(s). |

To speak of each as exclusivity, is to betray a woeful incomprehension of the respective approaches.
Rather, it's emphasis that ought to concern us. There are emotional Conservatives. Just as there are Liberals who employ logic. And both sides evince a surfeit of anger, which is surely emotion. As a general rule, both sides trade in emotion. Only, Cons capitalise on ignoring it, whilst Libs exploit it. And both opportunistically. It might might been irony, but for their agendas. |
