"Give me the children, I will give you a nation."
"When an opponent declares 'I will not come over to your side', I calmly say 'Your child belongs to us already. What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing else but this new community." — Adolph Hitler (1939) |

"Give me the children, I will give you a nation." Then I went to college and heard the most hideous exclamations of liberalism and hatred for God. Didn't effect me except to make my resolve stronger. Now I'm educating my kids and many of their friends who hang around. Not overtly or forcefully, but by examples of everyday life. I ended up this way on my own. My father never talked politics. |

One thing Hitler could not control was the environment people are exposed to. That includes poverty and wealth, hardship and providence, personal experience and learned knowledge. The socialist liberals have the same problem. I went to a public school in a sterile suburban neighborhood. But I shunned all that I saw. |

Fine. Something changed that. That's my point. The environment we are exposed to is somewhat unique and can hardly be controlled. The only major difference I can find is the public school system during their era, as opposed to mine. |

The socialist liberals have the same problem. I went to a public school in a sterile suburban neighborhood. But I shunned all that I saw. I was exposed to SWP literature throughout my teen years, and into my early twenties. My old man's a big time lefty. He used to organise events, go on demonstrations and distribute literature. Not a fanatic, but involved. He was very active in those circles at one time. Only later did I begin to form my own perspective. There's only so much of that stuff you can take on board, before some of it begins to sound like bullshit, and you look elsewhere. He would doubtless find many of my views distasteful, but fuck that. Much of liberalism/socialism is as fucking retarded as the extreme right-wing ideology (enticing though it is). |
