Here's what I propose we do to bridge the rift between liberals and conservatives. There should be a bill that covers both health care and gun control. In the health care part, libs get everything they want. In the gun control part, the pro gun crowd gets everything they want. The health care part creates a simple single-payer system. Everyone pays into it and everyone gets covered. The gun control part repeals the gun laws of 1968 and 1986, thus allowing law-abiding Americans to own whatever fully automatic rifles they want and to import whatever foreign ones they want.

While we're at it, we'll add immigration to the bill. It will specify that illegals are prohibited any access to health care in the US and it will create two barbed-wire fences on the border about 100 yards apart. The no-man's zone is designated as off limits and it's legal for any American citizen to open fire on anyone in that zone.

So who's on board with my bill?
