I don't know how he hopes to win this.. If Cincinnati can't shut down Larry Flynt, what makes him think he can use the interstate commerce clause to block free porn?

Santorum's social conservative fringe right radical credentials are impeccable.

He doesn't have to try harder at it...

Who are this guy's advisors?!?

I find it ironic that in a year where we vote to elect someone to go against a White House tyrant who is destroying civil liberties, the very candidates are doing the exact same thing. Santorum has to be out of his fucking mind to think he can make porn illegal.

I dunno why he's doing it.

I also dunno that Americans are exactly in love with Larry Flynt or the porno industry.. But it makes him look unfocused.

Americans are concerned about a whole host of things, and a good President needs to be concerned about a bunch more things that affect America, but aren't currently on the Main Street's radar. Porn doesn't even make the list.

I constantly get the impression that Conservative candidates are stuck in a time warp..

For many of them, it's like we're still living in the Soviet era.. We have a bunch of new challenges to face, yet they harp like it's 30 years ago..

Liberals, OTOH, are the opposite.. They want to disregard the past, and the present, and pretend that Americans don't need basic things to survive and prosper..

Like affordable energy..

They are the first ones to disregard the lessons of history because "Hey.. That was way back then! Like, last week!"

Another "Conservative" trying to regulate every aspect of our lives including our our hard drives. and trying to beat the Libs, Democrats, the media, independents, seculars , civil libertarians, the courts, and Hollywood (Who combined represent about a 2 to 1 majority in numbers and 5 to 1 in terms of power and influence) This is about as stupid an issue to bring up in an election years as as the contraception issue

I have little to no doubt, that he could if he wins.

Once again, the groundwork for using the interstate commerce clause, is already laid down.

Firearms......booze.......etc.

They can twist that law to cover ANYTHING they'd like.

And if someone didn't bitch about it when they abused it first......they shouldn't bitch about it now.

Arrest Flynt, and charge him with domestic terrorism, for violating the interstate commerce laws, and spin it as a homeland security issue........maybe a couple of those gals had ties to someone in Iran......

Then start arresting the publishers and hosts.

The rest of the people will fall in line after a few people are never heard from again.

The groundwork, is already in place........just need to white-out a few words, and replace them with a few others.

Simple.

Federal control of ANY type on firearms.....is clearly unconstitutional.......they dodge that with the interstate commerce law.

No one complains......

When Santorum makes porn illegal....I'll giggle and say "Hay, remember when we talked about slippery slopes?"

I have no problem with Santorum stating he is personally opposed to porn, hell I am personally opposed to niggers. What I do have a problem with is politicians attempting to force their views on me. If I want to watch some hot girl/girl action on Tube8 or some other site that is my right.

Years ago it was decided that denial of a National Endowment of the Arts grant for a depiction of a crucifix in a jar of urine was wrong since it violated the First Amendment guarantee of freedom of expression. Is not porn the photographer expressing himself/herself?

What exactly constitutes obscenity? Has the Supreme Court ever reached a decision beyond, "I know it when I see it"?

To me the child casualties of war are obscene. The artistic study of the female form is not.

I recently discovered EUtorrents. It has some very tastefully done European skin flicks. By tasteful I mean that there is actually a plot and story line and that the movies are not non-stop sex. Thanks to a filter I found for virtualdub I can hardcode the subtitles into the movie. The PAL format is kind of a pain if you have a DVD player that is older (like I do) but from what I have read most modern DVD players will accept both PAL and NTSC.

Who judges what is "porn" and what isn't?

I missed that part.

Because I want to know if we are we talking any sort of body shape parallel or reproduction implication or the stuff you can make on www.trycustomcthulhuink.com ?
