Default Anecdotal Economic Evidence
The last time my company placed an ad for help, about two years ago, we had 50+ applicants in the space of a few weeks, and most of them were highly experienced.

Now, we've had an ad in the paper for the last month, and we've had only 8 responses, and no one with more than a tiny bit of experience.

With the continued extension of unemployment benefits, people aren't yet ready to go back to work.

Yea jeshu.

What's the cause? Is it lazy people? It's hard to scream about economical troubles, when fully half the nation, isn't interested in work.

Do you have work ethic?

If you do, companies will freak out when you apply....they've not seen much of that in a while.

Show up late to the job interview...that'll make them feel like you're normal.

Good call bb.

Also, wear a t-shirt that says something about smoking pot....and flip-flops.

Get some piercings...

Then walk in and set your price!

And be sure to refer to the person conducting your interview as 'dude' or 'dog'.

I think it's 'DAWWWG'...not 'dog'.

Another good call. Also, stop the interview every couple minutes to text, or check your email.

Two words for you.

Oil. Fields.

They're hiring electricians like mad. And paying them quite well.

Yea, far too much work-work for my tastes.

I'll grant you that they make great money though.

It wasn't bad at 19 years old. Just payin' my dues, so to speak.

I made $600 today in 3 hours.....after sleeping in a little...messing around on the computer for an hour...then finally heading out to work. I was done working by 2:00, grabbed some beer and headed home.

My kinda day.

Unbelievable. I won't even let my guys carry a cell phone. They can leave it in their truck and check it at lunch time....if I let them take a lunch break.

Skilled or unskilled jobs?
